Your files

Is my deck content stored?

No. Presentation content is processed in memory for the duration of your review session and is not retained by Kambin afterward. We keep account, organization, usage, and security records separately from presentation content, and those are covered by our Privacy Policy.

Are my slides used to train AI models?

No. Kambin does not train models on your content, and our AI provider is contractually prohibited from using it to train or improve any model. AI analysis runs inside Kambin's own Azure environment. Your content is not sent to the public OpenAI service and is not shared with other customers.

Who owns my files and the optimized output?

You do. Kambin does not claim ownership of your presentations or of the results it produces from them. Section 7 (Customer Content) and Section 10 (Intellectual Property and Feedback) of our Terms of Service set out the position in full, including what rights you grant us when you send us feedback or other submissions.

Is it safe to let Kambin edit my PowerPoint file?

Yes. Kambin never makes changes to your file without your explicit approval. Every fix is presented as a suggestion first — you review, select, and apply only the changes you want. Your original file is always preserved until you choose to apply a fix.

Security

How does Kambin keep one firm's data separate from another's?

Access is checked against the signed-in user, their membership, and their organization on every request, and organization data is scoped by those checks throughout the application. We are building toward SOC 2 Type II and can share our current control documentation during a security review.

Is the sign-in handover from PowerPoint secure?

The add-in signs in through a short-lived, single-use assertion issued by kambin.ai over TLS. It expires after 90 seconds, is bound to the originating add-in request and Office parent origin, carries no email or name, and is consumed once so it cannot be replayed.

How it works

How does Kambin decide what to fix?

Kambin uses a set of established professional formatting rules — covering alignment, font consistency, spacing, and typography standards. Every slide is checked against these rules automatically, and any issues are flagged as suggested fixes for you to review before anything is applied.

How does the review engine work?

Kambin's review pipeline applies deterministic rules for alignment, spacing, and typography, and uses an AI model only to read slide text for consistency checks. The same input always produces the same findings, so fixes are predictable and repeatable.

Templates and environments

Does Kambin work with our firm's custom templates?

Absolutely. Our engine doesn't just look at pixels; it parses the underlying structure of your PowerPoint files. It is fully template-aware, respecting slide masters and branded elements while enforcing consistent formatting.

Does it work in offline or restricted network environments?

Kambin requires network access for sign-in and server-backed analysis. In a restricted environment, your administrator may need to allow the documented Kambin service endpoints before the PowerPoint add-in can complete a review.
